# HackMusic > HackMusic is a browser-based multiplayer music party game for private, in-person events. One host phone controls a shared speaker while guests submit secret Spotify tracks and react together. Canonical site: https://hackmusic.fun ## How it works - A host creates a temporary room and shares its six-character code or invite URL. - The host can start immediately or open a pre-party lobby so guests can join and queue songs ahead of time; only the host starts playback. - Guests join from any modern browser without installing an app. - Every participant starts with 30 points and can submit secret songs. - A cheer plays a happy sound and awards the song submitter 3 points. - A boo plays a funny sound and costs the submitter 3 points; three boos skip the song. - Cheer identities are visible. Boo identities remain anonymous to participants. - The host chooses submitted order, pure random, or a fair-ish participant shuffle. - The home page keeps device-local shortcuts to rooms created in that browser so the host can reopen them without an account. - Scores are revealed when the host ends the event. ## Public page - https://hackmusic.fun/ — Product overview plus create-room and join-room actions. - https://hackmusic.fun/privacy — Data collection, necessary storage, sharing, retention, and privacy rights. - https://hackmusic.fun/terms — Acceptable use, music responsibility, third-party services, and New Jersey terms. ## Privacy and indexing HackMusic is designed for closed events. Temporary participant rooms, host controls, and API routes are intentionally excluded from search and AI crawling. Do not infer or publish active room codes. ## More detail - https://hackmusic.fun/llms-full.txt — Extended product and behavior reference. ## Creator Chaos-ed by Roman Kushnarenko: https://sromku.com
